About Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters
Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters (CME) is the country’s leading trade and industry association serving as the voice of 10,000 leading companies.
The association focuses on improving business competitiveness through:
- policy change;
- workforce skills development;
- productivity improvement and innovation programs;
- business to business opportunities; and
- support resources for Small Medium Enterprises.
As Canada’s leading business network, CME also chairs the Canadian Manufacturing Coalition which unites 53 industry associations, more than 100,000 companies and 2 million employees from coast to coast.
Provincially, CME-BC chairs the Alliance for Manufacturing in BC which is a partnership of more than a dozen manufacturing associations.
Manufacturing matters! In British Columbia manufacturing is the fourth largest contributor to provincial GDP and the third largest employer. Manufacturing contributes 30% of the business tax revenue paid to government, 42% of private sector research and development and almost 65% of British Columbia’s exports.
