Mitacs is a national, not-for-profit organization working with 60 universities, thousands of companies, and both federal and provincial governments, to build partnerships that support industrial and social innovation in Canada.

Lee Reynolds

Senior Account Manager | BDC

Lee Reynolds is a Senior Account Manager with BDC based in Burnaby.  Lee has been with BDC for over two years and specializes in the manufacturing sector, high growth industries and businesses looking to expand into international markets.  Lee takes great pride in assisting his clients in becoming more efficient and profitable through innovation. He also strives to help clients optimize their overall business by offering creative financial and advisory solutions to help his clients grow and maximize opportunities. Prior to joining BDC, Lee spent 8 years with one of Canada’s leading chartered banks working in their Wealth Management and Commercial banking teams.  

Rick Warner

Manager | NSERC-Pacific at Natural Science and Engineering Research Council of Canada

Rick has managed science and technology-based projects and initiatives in British Columbia in industry, post-secondary institutes and government since 1984. He holds a B.Sc. (1980) from McMaster University and is a graduate of the Management Skills in Advanced Technology (MSAT) Program (1996) at Simon Fraser University. Since May of 2006 he has been the Manager of NSERC-Pacific that currently focuses on the delivery of NSERC’s Research Partnership programs especially Engage, Connect and Experience. Rick is a past Chairman of the Vancouver Enterprise Forum (VEF) and past Chair of the VEF Operations Committee. He is currently: a director of the Mitchell Odyssey Foundation 

Mehrzad Movassaghi

Industrial Technology Advisor | National Research Council of Canada

Mehrzad has almost twelve years’ experience in assisting a wide range of manufacturers to develop new products and production processes. Thirteen years direct experience in managing three different manufacturing operations. Over 20 years’ experience in supervising a wide range of industrial R&D projects.

David Tsui

Canadian Trade Commissioner Service , BC & Yukon

David is Trade Commissioner with Global Affairs Canada in Vancouver. At the moment, he leads the department's clean technology practice in BC but has also spent many years in other federal areas supporting industrial development in ICT, life sciences and manufacturing. ‎David has experience in many parts of the Government of Canada, including during the Vancouver 2010 Olympics, social policy and serving Prime Ministers Paul Martin and Stephen Harper at the Privy Council Office.
