2017 Stakeholders Dinner

Meet the CEOs of Government

Deputy Ministers are in charge of implementing the mandates of each Ministry. Together, they oversee the tactics and operations of the $50 billion operation that is our provincial government.

Join CME BC for this rare chance to meet with these leaders and share the challenges and opportunities of manufacturing in BC.

2018 marks the 16th anniversary of CME BC Annual Stakeholders’ Dinner. In March, over 150 leaders of industry including senior executives from the manufacturing and exporting sectors, Ministers, Deputy Ministers, MLAs and key Crown Corporations will meet to discuss the importance of manufacturing and crucial issues of the sector in BC to help develop a strategic plan.

Over the years, this CME event has provided senior executives in the manufacturing community an opportunity to speak directly with provincial policy makers to help our provincial government better understand the critical importance of maintaining a healthy, diverse and vibrant manufacturing and exporting sector in BC.

The dinner provides great exposure to both industry and government along with an evening of business networking with supporters of industry. The ministries have found this dinner format increasingly valuable as it provides each special guest an opportunity to discuss some of the key issues facing the manufacturing and exporting sectors over a multi-course dinner. Each special guest rotates to another table with the arrival of each course. CME BC members become a natural conduit for special guests to test some of their public policy thinking and responses, within a relaxed and informal atmosphere.

How the Roundtable Discussions Work

  • Tables of 8 are seated with 2 special guests from government and crown corporations.
  • With each course (approximately every 15 minutes), the 2 special guests exchange ideas, successes and challenges with manufacturers and other key stakeholders seated at the table.
  • When the next course is served (7 in total), the special guests rotate to another table to get a different perspective or to confirm a common thread within the industry.
